Each day throughout San Diego County, 700 9-1-1 calls are made for medical and other emergencies.
Fire Chiefs are telling us that one of their top needs is to grow the ranks of paramedics and firefighters. To respond to this need, the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation recently provided $31,000 in scholarships to 7 individuals to assist them in their efforts to become paramedics or enroll in the fire academy. 5 of these first responders are from Chula Vista Fire Department and 2 are from North County Fire Protection District.
Working with Fire Chiefs, Southwestern College, Palomar College, and other community partners, we plan to expand the program to more departments throughout the County. However, your financial support is needed to provide the scholarships our first responders need to pursue their necessary education to serve San Diego residents. Together we will make San Diego the Safest County in the Nation!
