2025 HIGHLIGHTS – WE’VE BEEN BUSY THIS YEAR!

To accomplish our mission to make San Diego the Safest County in the Nation, in 2025 the Fire Foundation provided over $2.5 million of critical fire suppression and prevention equipment to fire agencies throughout the County, supported Fire Safe Councils in their community-based fire prevention, education, and home hardening programs, and provided scholarships to EMTs to attend paramedic school or fire academy.
NEW SAFETY EQUIPMENT PROVIDED TO IMPERIAL BEACH FIRST RESPONDERS!

Today the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation (Fire Foundation) announced it has funded $65,342 to the City of Imperial Beach for upgraded personal safety gear that enhances protection for lifeguards and firefighters (First Responders). The investments strengthen the City’s ongoing efforts to safeguard personnel who routinely respond to emergencies in areas affected by regional water pollution originating from the Tijuana River.

The San Diego Regional Fire Foundation announced it funded 31 Fire Safe Councils (FSC’s) with grants totaling $300,000 to aid in wildfire prevention and preparedness, including community education to make their neighborhoods safer.

San Diego County has more Fire Safe Councils (FSCs) than any county in California. FSCs play a crucial role in keeping our region safe from wildfires. On May 31, the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation awarded $123,610 in grants to 18 of our local FSCs funding the critical work they do.
